If you have a Nalgene or another wide-mouth bottle like a Hydro Flask or Yeti Yonder, this is a neat water filter that mounts straight onto it. Handy for drinking filtered water directly from the bottle. You just screw the cap on, the filter sits inside the bottle and takes up no extra space, turning a normal bottle into a quick, safe and genuinely easy way to drink filtered water.
The removable filter uses the same hollow-fibre technology as Platypus’s award-winning filter systems to clean water safely and quickly. You drink straight from it just like you would from your bottle. When the flow starts to slow down, give the bottle a shake with the DayCap and filter on to clean it and restore the flow rate.
The cap is made from durable, high-quality materials and has a sturdy loop so you can hang it or clip it on. The spout is shaped to optimise flow for a natural drinking experience (I’m not sure what an unnatural drinking experience would be, but I’ll take the natural one). The DayCap has a flip-up, leak-free lid that stays out of the way while you drink. In cap-only mode it works as a normal everyday lid for your bottle when you’re not out on the trail.
