Light and very effective, the Vesuv Hotpot is an alcohol stove that pairs nicely with the Vesuv windshields. The can is filled with carbon felt so the spirit burns evenly and won’t spill out of the can.
The Vesuv Hotpot 40 weighs just 16 g. The carbon felt absorbs up to 40 ml of alcohol. Cans like this are easy to light, don’t need priming, and you can blow them out easily. If you’ve got fuel left in the burner, that’s no problem, just screw the lid back on and the remaining fuel is safely stored for next time. We’d suggest not screwing it fully shut while it’s still full. If you’re storing the burner for a long time, always burn it dry first.
The non-woven carbon felt withstands temperatures up to 1300°C, far higher than the flame itself, which means a long life without degrading.

How to use the Vesuv alcohol stove
- Open the lid and carefully pour in up to 40 ml of alcohol-based liquid fuel.
- Place the burner on a non-flammable surface for safety.
- Before lighting, make sure any spilled fuel has been wiped away or fully evaporated.
- Once lit, the burner runs at full power straight away.
- To put out the flame, blow firmly or cover the burner with a flat non-flammable object. Do NOT use the burner’s lid, as this can damage the plastic seal inside.
- Once the burner has cooled, you can close it with the screw lid to store the remaining fuel for next time.
- Before storing the burner for a long period, check that no fuel is left inside.
- WARNING: only use the burner in well-ventilated spaces. Take great care with yourself, others and your surroundings, you’re dealing with open flame and flammable liquids.
