TOAKS – Titanium Siphon Alcohol Stove – spiritus brander

The Toaks titanium siphon alcohol stove is a super light and sturdy spirit burner that is very simple to use and reliable to use.
Simply fill the burner with spirit (we recommend bio-ethanol from Action or Welkoop, cheap, lots of heat and little soot formation) and light the spirit (nice and easy with a small mini bic or firesteel). The Toaks burner will catch fire almost immediately and the heat will cause the “jets” (siphons) to do their work. The alcohol is sucked in through the small tunnels on the side of the burner and provides extra targeted heat to heat the pan faster.
A very simple and effective design and extremely easy to use. This burner also works well in stronger winds, but always use a good windshield with any (spirit) burner that you use outside.

Notes:

1. TOAKS alcohol stove is constructed with double walls. It has small opening at the inside bottom and little holes on the top edge.
2. When it is lit, the siphon effect causes the heated vaporized alcohol to go up between the walls, burst and burn from the holes on the top. The stove’s high efficiency is achieved due to the optimized alcohol vaporization for the complete combustion.
3. This stove is designed to use ethanol (C2H6O) as fuel, which burns clean with the best efficiency.
4. We find the denatured alcohol CROWN Alcohol Stove Fuel works well and burn clean with this stove. Other denatured alcohol may be used but need user’s own careful experiment. If the denatured alcohol has higher heating value than Ethanol (C2H6O), it will cause the incomplete burn. So that one may see some smoke and charred surface of the pot.
