As soon as you pick up the Thermarest Vesper 20F quilt you know this is a lovely fluffy, warm quilt that is really light. It is an ultralight and very comfortable quilt with a fixed footbox, made for people who love lightweight gear and want to get going fast without losing comfort and warmth. The minimalist design gives you full freedom of movement while you sleep. Great for anyone who finds a regular mummy bag too restrictive or who moves a lot at night.
Warm, dry and light
The Vesper 20F is filled with high quality Nikwax Hydrophobic Down. This insulation gives excellent warmth for its weight and stays lofty when it gets damp. Like every quilt it has no full length zipper and the back is open, so you can vent easily and get in and out of bed without a struggle. The limit temperature is 20°F (-6°C) and in my experience the comfort temperature is around freezing, provided you combine it with a sleeping pad that has a reasonable R-value for those temperatures. That makes it a three season quilt that can handle the odd colder night.
The shell is a 10D nylon ripstop with DWR (durable water repellent) finish and the inside is 10D nylon. It is filled with 900 fill power down (about 360 grams in the Regular). Total weight for the Regular is around 550 grams. The quilt packs into the included compression sack, so it fits easily in a backpack or bikepacking bag.
In short: if you want an ultralight and very comfortable sleep system for your next adventure, the Vesper 20F is a strong choice.
