The simplest way to keep your sleeping bag and clothes guaranteed dry: a waterproof liner inside your pack instead of (or alongside) a rain cover. Put your stuff in, roll the top shut and you’re done. Made from sil/PU-coated 40D nylon ripstop with taped seams, with a D-ring to hang the liner from something. Not meant for prolonged submersion, but keeps everything dry in heavy rain.
