These might be the most beautiful stuff sacks we know. Incredible designs, super well made, ultralight and higly functional. High Tail Designs works together with artists to print their designs onto the fabric. Like the watercolours of Hannah Beimborn, she’s an artist from Boulder who draws inspiration from hiking and skiing in the Rockies (oh and 15% of the proceeds go to her). We also have solid gradient prints, Pewter and Muted Malachite.
These stuff sacks are not just pretty (well they are really nice) but also pretty functional, especially if you are as chaotic as me. The sacks have a square or rectangular bottom so they sit tight next to or on top of each other in your pack. One side of the top closure has a stiff extra layer, so the roll-top closes snugly. The fabric is the well known and durable Challenge Sailcloth TX50, a polyester triple ripstop on PET film with Ultra UHMWPE fibres, light and waterproof. Good thing to know and High Tail is honest about it, these are not dry bags, the seams are sewn and taped rather than welded, so don’t fully submerge them. They are perfectly fine in your pack as a waterproof protection for your gear.
The bags are availabe in three sizes, each design in one size. The 4.5 litre sacks store a 30F quilt or a light tent like the Zpacks plex tent, 6.5 litres is great for a bigger quilt extra clothing, layers and socks, and 10 litres for winter clothes or a short food carry. Because the colours are sublimated, the shade may differ slightly from the photo.
