Pinguin – Firestarter – box – firesteel

The Pinguin Firestarter Box is a fire steel that stores in itself. The magnesium alloy rod (6 x 45 mm) is fixed in the lid, the steel striker is moulded into the body of the case. Pull the two halves apart and you have rod and striker in your hands, push them back together and it’s a nice and compact little box of 8 by 2 by 1 cm.

Use it to light your gas or petrol stove and with a little practice your alcohol stove. And of course you can light your own campfire with it, if you have some dry tinder you can ignite, great fun to do so.  The rod should lasts 5,000 to 02,000 strikes depending on use.
