Evernew’s NICKTSUCAM are mini tongs are made from DUPLEX stainless steel, a strong and springy steel that keeps its shape. They are about the size of your palm, so they fit in any cook kit and add only 9 grams. Really nice, ultralight and compact, so easy to stow away in your pack (and be careful not to loose them, I searched for them in the tall grass for quite some time). My favorite use is for a trail side cup of noodles (I can’t use chop sticks, so this is the best alternative) or use them to turn a piece of fish or a tortilla in your pan, to lift a hot lid, to fish a tea bag out of your mug or to move coals in a wood stove. They also make nice training chopsticks for kids (or clumsy dudes like me).
Why tongs in an ultralight kit?
Most of us cook with a spoon or spork and that is fine for freeze-dried meals. But these are sooo much more fun and functional as an extra in your cook kit. As soon as you fry or grill something, tongs make life a lot easier and you do not burn your fingers. At 9 grams this is one of the fanciest upgrades to your camp kitchen.
