Durston Z-Flick Tent Pole

Not everyone walks with trekking poles and bikepackers and paddlers certainly do not carry them. If you still want a trekking pole tent like the X-Mid, the Durston Z-Flick is the answer. We have made quite a few carbon tent poles ourselves over the years, but the Durston poles are simply on another level (and that is not hard to admit). They fold short and have an adjustable section, so you can dial in the exact pitch height and use the same poles for other tents.

The Z-Flick is a folding carbon tent pole made for backpackers without trekking poles, bikepackers, kayakers, or anyone who only carries one trekking pole. It is ideal for the X-Mid and other trekking pole tents. At 93 grams it is the lightest adjustable pole in the world, the stiffest pole in its class, the only folding pole with an easy external adjuster and the only one that is compatible with almost every tent on the market.

Why not a fixed length pole?

Any pole that is lighter than the Z-Flick has a fixed length and is most likely a lot less stiff. Adjustable height means you can pitch your tent low and tight in wind, higher for ventilation in summer and use the same pole on a different tent later.
