Durston – X-Mid Pro 2 – Dyneema Tent

If you’re after an ultralight, roomy 2-person tent (and yes, I get that you might always camp solo in it, I do that in my X-Mid 2 too), the Durston X-Mid 2 Pro is the best single-wall tent you can find. You’ve probably read everything about it already, and there’s plenty of info on the Durston website. The X-Mid has been my personal favourite tent since the first “drop” edition. I have every version of Dan’s tents in my own collection and I’m glad to be able to offer them in the shop, imported, all taxes paid, and in stock in Europe.

The Durston X-Mid Pro 2 Dyneema tent is the ideal tent for the ultralight hiker who wants a roomy shelter or enough space for two. The X-Mid Pro 2 is an incredibly smart ultralight tent. It combines the clever, storm-resistant X-Mid geometry with Dyneema composite fabrics (DCF) and a single-wall design into a tent that’s both incredibly light and incredibly capable. The 2025 version weighs just 565 g (with the silnylon floor, without poles and stakes) while bringing serious storm resistance, simplicity, space and build quality to the super-ultralight tent niche.

It’s an incredibly smart design and a genuinely nice tent to spend time in. The vestibules are handy for stowing your dry bags and dirty shoes. The headroom is good for sitting upright, and the finish and attention to detail are excellent. The tent is pitched with 2 trekking or tent poles (not included), and you can use the Z-Flick tent poles for this.

At just 565 grams this tent is genuinely ridiculously light (and roomy) compared to other UL tents, mostly thanks to its unmatched space, durability and good protection from the elements.

The Durston X-Mid Pro 2 has a roomy interior for two adults, with a generous floor length of 228 cm, a wide 117 cm and steep side walls that maximise usable length (in a single-wall tent you get condensation, and you don’t want to lie with your feet or head against the fabric). The unique diagonal ridgeline and the opposing diagonal floor give plenty of headroom, so you can sit normally in this tent. It’s comfortable for people up to ~1.93 m (sleeping two) or ~2.05 m (sleeping alone and lying diagonally).

The tent is even more practical thanks to the two large vestibules, with the main storage handily next to the door so you can reach it without obstruction. All in all the X-Mid 2 Pro is a great mix of space and comfort in an ultralight package. If you want an even roomier option, there’s also the Durston X-Mid 2+ version.
