One of the pots we tested, and fairly mistreated, on our Kenya trip: the Evernew Ti U.L. Pot 600, a 600ml titanium pot with walls just 0.3mm thick, hence the UL for Ultra Light. Despite the thin material it came through the test perfectly, even over an open fire there was no warping. We didn’t dent it either, though that’s of course easier to do with these UL pots.
Fireproof silicone handle and seriously light
Yes, we gave the silicone around the handles a proper go too, and it really is fireproof, it doesn’t melt the way others we’ve tried genuinely do when you set them on the coals of an open fire. So it works well and protects your fingers from burning. They do get warm if you really heat them up, so always take care.
The flat pot has a large surface area for heating well and spreading the burner’s heat evenly, say the flame of your alcohol stove. The 0.3mm thickness transfers the burner’s heat straight to the pot with high efficiency. Good for solo and serious hikers, and recommended for climbers who want to travel with very little and backpackers who like light and fast.
