If you want a cookset that’s solid but still light, the Sea to Summit Sigma Cookset is worth a look. You get a lightweight stainless steel pot, a bowl and a mug (or two of each in the 2-person version), which is everything you need for a proper meal on the trail. The Sigma pots are stainless steel with a textured base for stability, hard-wearing and easy to clean.
The space-saving DeltaLight bowl and Insul-Mug (a mug with an insulating sleeve) nest neatly inside the Sigma pot. They’re made from BPA-free, glass-fibre-reinforced polypropylene, so they’re light and durable, and microwave- and dishwasher-safe if it ever comes to that. The Pivot-Lock handle on the Sigma pot swings on a single horizontal axis and locks firmly in place while cooking for a secure grip. Folded away, it locks the lid and contents in place. The lid has a built-in strainer and a “Lid Keep” feature that lets you hook the lid onto the rim of the pot, so it doesn’t have to sit on the (sometimes grubby) ground.
Available in two versions
- Sigma 1.1 (1-person): 1.2 L pot, 800 ml DeltaLight bowl, DeltaLight Insul-Mug.
- Sigma 2.2 (2-person): 1.9 L pot, 2x 800 ml DeltaLight bowl, 2x DeltaLight Insul-Mug.
