The Sea to Summit Etherlight XR Insulated sleeping pad is an evolution of the previous XT version and has improved significantly as a result. We were surprised by its weight, comfort (the pad is a full 10 cm thick!), and compact pack size. The Etherlight XR Insulated is a very lightweight yet thick air-sprung cell sleeping pad designed for comfort on any adventure. Larger air compartments are created by using TPU baffles that connect the top and bottom layers of fabric with the Air Sprung Cell™ spot-welded pattern. The loop-shaped baffles spread the top and bottom layers further apart, creating larger air pockets when the mat is inflated, while still requiring less fabric, so you can fold the mat back down compactly and carry it easily. Perfect for side sleepers: the extra height of this mat allows your hips to sink deeper into the mat without touching the ground. With an R-value of 4.1 (ASTM-tested), we experienced you can use this sleeping pad for 3-season use just down to around freezing (though it might be a bit on the edge with just a quilt if you are a cold sleeper).

The Etherlight, in the regular and small sizes, is slightly wider (55 cm) than the well-known Thermarest (51cm)
