We have tested quite a few of these travel towels and in our opinion this is the best one you can buy: the Packtowl Original. This lightweight towel is available in a number of sizes from small (ideal as a quick “whipe the sweat of your face” cloth) to XL (perfect for after a dip in a cold stream). We recommend the Large as the optimum between weight and usability to get yourself dry after showering. We also received feedback from a number of our long-haired customers (unfortunately I cannot test that) that the Large is very nice if you have longer hair to use as a hair wrap and be able to dry it properly .
Due to the super absorbent material that the Pactowl is made of, it can absorb up to 10x its own weight in water. You can also easily wring out the towel. The fabric of this travel towel dries 40% faster than a regular comparable cotton towel.
The Pactowl original comes in a flat storage net with a zipper, where the travel towel dries nice and easily. We hang the towel on top of your backpack and the towel will easily dry while you are on the go (as long as it doesn’t rain, duh).
And also pretty important, the Pactowl Original is made of a compostable, fiber-based fabric and therefore has less impact on the environment.
