Atwood Rope’s Tactical Cord is a thin, strong cord with a braided nylon sheath and a nylon core. At 2.4 mm it is thinner and lighter than paracord, but with a tensile strength of 125 kg it is still strong enough for everything you need on a trip: extra guy lines for your tent or tarp, replacement shoelaces, zipper pulls, a washing line at camp or lashing gear to your pack. It is also handy in survival kits and emergency bags.
Why 2.4 mm instead of paracord?
Classic 550 paracord is 4 mm thick and heavy for what most hikers actually use it for. This 2.4 mm cord gives you 15 metres for 68 grams, so you can carry plenty without noticing it. It knots well, holds tension on guy lines and does not stretch much when wet.
