Your sleeping mat is leaking. A small prick from a pebble somewhere, or an invisible break in the TPU layer. The Igneous Airlock Patch is made from TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), the same material as most sleeping mats and water bladders, so it bonds seamlessly to the surface.
Each patch is 0.39 grams, measuring 36 × 28 mm with rounded corners. It’s transparent, so you can see exactly what’s underneath and check the patch is sitting right.
The trick is in the prep: the surface has to be completely dry before you apply the patch. Patching over a wet surface doesn’t work. Take your time, wipe with an alcohol wipe, wait until it’s dry, then apply the patch from the centre outwards. Press it down well and leave it, the adhesion keeps building over the first few hours.
