Do you recognize that you are so crazy about a piece of “gear” that you want everyone to feel it too? We have that with the quilts from Enlightened Equipment (EE). Years ago, during a search for the best sleeping bag / quilt, we came across this American company and took the chance to order an Enlightened Equipment Revelation Quilt and have never looked at another quilt since. The EE Revelation has everything you need to sleep comfortably in the most diverse circumstances. The EE Revelation is a quilt, not a sleeping bag, which means it’s designed to be used with a sleeping pad as insulation underneath you, between you and the ground. The Revelation does not have a zipper over the entire length of the bag or a built-in hood, saving you weight and space. Just a small zipper at the lower part of the quilt that you can close up and then pull the elastic cord at the feet end to close of the footbox. If you open up the zipper compeletly, you’ll have a blanket.

The Revelation 30F / -1C is a very versatile quilt and perfectly suited for trips in the those nice spring dayz, all through summer into the warmer days of autumn. The temperature rating of the EE quilts are limit temperatures, for the comfort temperature you have to add about 5 to 6 degrees. Don’t ask us why they maintain this standard, but it is common among many manufacturers. So a 30F (-1C) is basically a quilt that is warm up to about 5 degrees C and that you can also use down to -1C in exceptional cases (but with extra layers, otherwise you will get really cold. Why do you think the Enlightened Equipment Revelation Quilts are one of the best sleeping bags for backpackers?

1. 1. Firstly: a formidable light weight. The Revelation 30 comfortably above freezing (with an extra layer of clothing) weighs only ~550 grams.
2. 2. Pack size: These down quilts compress into ridiculously small packages that easily find a place in your bikepacking bag or backpack. Especially in a good compression bag. (Note that hard compression does not always benefit the down.)
3. Versatile in use: from cold nights to warm summer evenings. By zipping the foot box, you can turn the blanket shape into a warm place for your feet. Click the quilt closed around you and you can stay nice and warm, especially with the top cord properly tied (this keeps the heat inside). If it is warm, place the quilt over you like a blanket. If it is beautiful in the evening and you want to enjoy the stars for a while, wrap it around you like a cape and stay up a little longer to exchange cool stories with friends (*also gives Superman vibes ;-).
4. Comfort: The ultra-light nylon (usually 10D) fabric feels feather-light, but is also comfortable on the skin. The quilts “puff” incredibly and feel like a cloudy blanket around you (really, just come by and feel it)
5. 5. Made with love: designed and finished in the USA. I won’t comment on whether the country makes a difference, but what we do know is that these quilts are produced and designed with a lot of attention. By enthusiasts with business sense and a heart for beautiful outdoor sports equipment and you can feel, see and notice that.

Stuff sack: The EE quilts are supplied with a regular stuff sack, where the quilt fits well. But this is not a compression bag that can compress the quilt as small as possible. We put a small strap around the stuff sack and compress the quilt slightly (and roll our sleeping mat around it), watch this example video. • Filling:
  850fp or 950fp down. Ethically sourced from an RDS certified supplier. The stated weight of the sleeping bag may vary by approximately +/- 3% due to the difference in down and production deviations.
• Fabric:
  The outer fabric is made of lightweight Nylon 10D. The lining is also a Nylon 10D (grey). The fabric has a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. There is also a lighter fabric option available on request: Graphite 7D outer fabric and a Midnight 7D lining fabric.
• Footbox:
  You form the footbox with a zipper. This has a length of approximately 50 cm and closes at the bottom with an elastic and press studs.
• Other features:
  • * 1/4 length zipper and adjustable foot box.
  • * The included attachment system for your sleeping mat uses elastic straps and clips on both sides of the quilt. This way you can safely attach it to a sleeping mat and prevent drafts during cold nights.
  • * Thanks to the neck closure with press studs and drawstring, you can also prevent drafts at the top of the quilt.
  • * Unique U-shaped continuous baffles keep the down where you need it all night long. (If at some point the down becomes unevenly distributed, you can easily redistribute it yourself)
  • * Includes Silnylon Stuff Sack (10 – 20 grams), 100% cotton storage bag (always hang your sleeping bag in this so that it is not compressed), and 2 Elastic Straps.
  • * Filled, finished and inspected in Winona, MN. The outer cover is imported.
