If you are really looking for a super nice alcohol / spirit burner, the Evernew Bluenote set is a fantastic option. The set consists of the famous ultralight “BLUENOTE⁺stove” and a small bottom plate, which you can use as a “preheater” or simply as a trivet for the burner and protection of the bottom. You use the preheater to “prime” the bluenote stove faster, you put some spirit on this, light that and this heats the burner which causes it to “ignite” faster from the side jets. The bluenote spirit burner is a burner that works with small holes that once the burner gets hot act like “jets”. Because of this, once the burner is primed you can place a pan on it and get a very effective burn. If it is a bit colder, you can put a little spirit on the pre-heated plate (and the rest in the burner) to make the alcohol evaporate faster and make the burner burn well quickly.
