Tyvek – 1057D hard structure – per meter

Tyvek 1057D hardstructur is the sturdier and more waterproof version of the soft structure that has been one of our favorite products in the shop for years. Tyvek 1057D is a special, almost paper-like fabric made by DuPont. It is waterproof (even more so than the 1043r version), windproof, and very suitable for use as a groundsheet to protect your tent or under your bivouac bag. It can also be used as an organizer or a mat to sit on. We supply the original Tyvek from DuPont in this hard structure version. This hard and sturdier version crinkles a lot more than the soft structure version, but after washing, this is much less noticeable. This variant is also nice and strong, sturdy, tear-resistant, and very durable. Tyvek 1057D is super light, weighing only ~55 grams per m², and is particularly suitable for use in all kinds of lightweight applications..

Tyvek 1057D hard structure, super as a groundsheet for your lightweight tent or bivy

With this super sturdy and strong fabric, you basically no longer need expensive brand-name groundsheets. This lightweight Tyvek can easily be cut to size to make your own groundsheet. This 1057D version is extremely durable, much more so than a plastic polycro sheet. You can easily cut this hard structure Tyvek to size, it will not fray at the ends. Stitch it together (with a wide stitching seam) or glue it. A small piece can also serve as protection against a damp “bottom” when sitting on wet or dirty ground. Good to know: the 1057D Tyvek version is a lot stiffer (but also stronger and more waterproof) than the soft version (1043 version) and therefore crinkles more.
Tyvek is a 100% synthetic material made from high-density non-woven polyethylene fibers. Lightweight, durable, and breathable, yet resistant to water, abrasion, bacterial penetration, and wear.

Only available by the meter; the quantity is the number of meters you will receive in one continuous piece. So if you order 4 meters, you will receive one long piece measuring 4 meters by 1.39 meters wide. The Tyvek is folded for shipping, so it may be slightly creased upon arrival. Our tip: order a little extra (not because we earn more that way), but because Tyvek is easy to cut and the leftover pieces are ideal as a mat to organize your gear while packing, as a seat protector, as protection under your backpack at night, or to sew small bags.
